The recently renovated Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu, has been flooded after witnessing some major rainfall.
The Airport which was closed on February 10, 2010, by the Federal
Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) for the first phase of major
renovation and expansion works and The airport was re-opened on 16
December 2010 before then going through a third batch of renovations
last year, is now looking like a canal to international and local
guests.
The Airport had welcomed its first international flight since the renovation in 2013 to change its status.
Despite undergoing three major renovations to the tune of millions of
Tax payers dollars, it seems the money is now clogging the drains.
Akanu Ibiam International Airport (IATA: ENU, ICAO: DNEN), also known
as Enugu Airport, is an airport in Enugu, the capital city of Enugu
State of Nigeria.
The airport is named after the late Akanu Ibiam (1906-1995), a
Medical Doctor and Statesman who hailed from Afikpo in Ebonyi State.
