Dandy Drops New Video..

Nigeria Born Daniel Onuigwe popularly known as Dandy, and imperially slim 6.2 inch tall with glowing fair skin, a producer and a song writer from Imo state Okigwe L.G.A who grew up in western part of Nigeria Lagos. Being a privileged child he is the 5th and the only son of his parent amongst 6 girls. It early afternoon and dandy is running late to record one of his artist in his studio, he steps out of his car filled with apologies. Frankly speaking, I wasn’t really paying attention to what he was saying as I was totally blown away with his humility. So you wouldn’t really blame me for standing there transfixed and sizing up the prince charming. Most times celebrities find it really hard to define themselves, in some cases they end up giving ambiguous answers when questions about their personalities are asked. For Dandy the question of defining himself founds vague but it successfully takes a different route to answering the question about him. ”sometimes I wish we could ban people from asking us to tell them about ourselves because truthfully it is not the easiest question to answer.” He says” people think that celebrities know themselves, but the truth is they don’t. So I am just a regular person that others see in a glowing bus called the T.V. I’m just a very simple person”. Why dandy? He has this to say “my mum actually gave me the name Dandy because I care a lot about my looks and appearance; I believe personal style is the reflection of who you are on the inside. My personal style comes from inside so for me it’s an expression of who I am. I always evolve and also like to be comfortable with what I wear at the same time. Talking about the R&B music and how it all started, Dandy said” I had always wanted to go into music, music was my first love and it was singing, I knew all along that I am going to end up here eventually, we all started way back when I was a kid let say during my secondary school days and around my penultimate year. I got exposed to hip-hop and R & B music, I realized that hip-hop was of one of the things that made you look cool, and hence a lot of us were drawn towards it. Even if it was against the school rules to bring musical gadgets into school, I would sneak in my Walkman and everyone will be talking about it. So it was all about being hip and being a part of the “in” crowd. I use to make a lot of noisy sounds with my desk at school. Later on I joined the RCCG teens church (Wisdom Chapel) Cornerstone Modern Parish where we formed an accapella musical group called “The Echoes of Wisdom”.

We came out with an album titled “Change My Night” but couldn’t go far because we broke out. With all the recent talk of tracks like (Kia-Kia) meaning sharp- sharp right? “yes! (Egeshilo & Dangerous game) the album is set to go multi-platinum and with his talents and personality it is clear that he is an humble artist who will outlive the hype. “This is my maiden album; I just completed it and just shot a video for Kia-Kia featuring O’cube, (Download link available-click blue link) the video was shot by Iyke man of Urban Touch. So what I am really focusing on is making sure that this Album is a success and that means having to promote the album is not enough to put out an album. I’ve got to keep shooting good videos, making new connections, meeting new people and most importantly winning fans over, he concluded.
