THANK YOU SO MUCH

Hi everyone,
As you can imagine this is a very important day in my life, and with these lines I would like to express the memories and emotions that come to me as I write.
https://www.sgagarinews.blogspot.com
This letter is written from my heart, and first of all I would like to say that I will never forget all the affection given to me by the Chelsea fans. From the very first day until the last.
With your support an I will always feel the gratitude towards you. Always. No words are enough to give back all the things I have received. There has been plenty of good moments: the FA Cup, my first trophy as a Blue; the immense happiness of winning titles for the first time in the club’s history, such as that magical Champions League night in Munich and the Europa League… On the other hand, I have experienced some complicated situations from a personal point of view, mainly during the last six months. Every message I got through the social media, every nice word you have said to me on the street, and of course, your support in the stadium, has made me feel incredibly proud of the Chelsea fans; you deserve a team like the one you’ve got, with so many fantastic players.
d affection I have grown up as a player and I have had an amazing time both on and off the pitch.
I won’t forget the faith you put in me when I was given the player of the year award the last two seasons. I feel really proud and I will never forget those nights.
Thank you so much for the way you have treated me, you have been unbelievable. I hope you understand that after going through a complicated and, for me, new situation in the last few months, I believe this is the best choice in order to carry on with my football career and to keep enjoying this sport.
Before last summer, my intention was to stay here for a long time; as long as the club wanted me to, and to keep winning trophies for Chelsea FC. This is how happy I was in the club and in the city. However, as you all know, things changed after the preseason. From feeling like an important player, I started to experience some difficult situations and I felt unable to help the team to the extent that I wanted and was used to. Obviously, I fully respect the circumstances.
Football is a team sport and it’s not easy to play regularly in such a good squad. In sports you may win or lose, but the most important thing is to give everything. I hope you know and feel that I have always done so. In every game, in every training session, without exception. I have always tried my best for the club.

I would like to emphasise the affection, admiration and respect that I’ve had for my former team mates since the first day. I want to thank the captains for their help and understanding at all times. They made me feel comfortable when I arrived and they have supported me throughout the difficult times this season. I thank all my former team mates for these two and a half years and I wish them the best, personally and professionally, for the future. Of course I have been closer to some of them, but the most important thing is that my years in Chelsea have left me with great friends. Friends forever, football rivalries aside.
I also want to highlight the day-to-day job of every member of the Chelsea staff: medical team, kit men, staff at Cobham and Stamford Bridge, media and marketing department, Chelsea TV team… All of them are very important in making this club a great one. Thank you for your treatment and your efforts to make the life of the players easier.
Furthermore, thanks to every manager I have had the pleasure to work with during my time here. They have all been a big help for my progression as a player. I have always respected their decisions, whatever they were; they made me more mature and a stronger person. You learn from everything, and certain situations make you think about other team mates who are coping with similar situations more regularly. Thank you Andre for giving me the opportunity to join Chelsea FC. Without your support, none of this would have happened. To Robbie and Rafa, for their unlimited trust in me. And to Jose, for making me a stronger player, because in difficult moments, I have learnt to remain positive and to keep working hard.
Lastly, I want to thank the Club, and in particular its owner, Roman Abramovich, for trusting me and making an important investment when signing me. Also for their understanding regarding my situation over the last months. I’m very glad to have been part of the squad that made his and our dream come true: winning the Champions League on that unforgettable night in Munich. Additionally, my years in Chelsea have been profitable for the club, which I’m very pleased about.
I want to make clear that the stage that now comes to an end has been extremely important for me, personally and professionally. Although many of you, like myself, never thought this moment would come, this is football and a new chapter is about to begin.
I would have liked to say good bye to all of you in the stadium, or in a press conference, but it has not been possible. I’m sure I will be able to do it in the future, because that is what you deserve.
Evidently, today is a day of mixed feelings, remembering the past and looking forward to the future and what it has to bring. I look forward to being happy and to enjoy what I like the most: play football.
I will never forget my time in Chelsea and the affection I take with me, I will keep forever.
I wish you the best. A big hug to all of you.
THANK YOU so much,
Juan

Public smokers risk 6-month jail term in Lagos

http://www.shagarinews.blogspot.com

The Lagos State House of Assembly, yesterday, passed a bill, aimed at banning smoking in public places in the state.

SMOKEThis came after several months of deliberation and public engagement, mainly to sensitise and gather residents’ opinions on the bill.

The 16-section bill, said that posting of signs which states “no smoking,” with a picture depicting a burning cigarette enclosed in a circle with a bar across, should be displayed in all “no smoking areas.”

The assembly noted that the picture depicting ban of smoking in a particular public place would be prominently posted and properly maintained by the owner, occupier or person in charge of the “no smoking areas.”

The bill, which, yesterday, scaled through the third reading, prohibited anybody smoking in all public places including libraries, museum, public toilets, schools, hospital, day care centres, public transportation and restaurants, among others.

The assembly proceeding which was presided over by the Speaker, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, said smoking in public places would attract penalties ranging from three month imprisonment to six month jail term.

It said the bill “has been sent to Governor Babatunde Fashola  for an assent,” even though the development had attracted public outrage, citing infraction on fundamental human rights.

Section 4 of the bill said it shall be the duty of those who own or occupy public places to ensure that approved “no smoking” signs are displayed conspicuously at each entrance and in prominent locations throughout the premises.

The bill on no smoking in public places, also stated the penalties for smoking in a “no smoking area” will be N10,000 fine or imprisonment for a term not  less than one month and not exceeding three months or both.

While any person who repeatedly violates the provisions shall on conviction be liable to a fine of N50, 000 or six month imprisonment or both.

The law also states the penalty for non compliance by owner/occupier of a “no smoking area” the offenders shall attract N100, 000 or 6 month imprisonment, or other non custodial punishment that the judge may deem fit.

It shall be an offence to obstruct a duly authorised officer from carrying out his duties under the provision of this law.

The law states that any person who smokes in the presence of a child commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of N15,000 or imprisonment for a month or both.

Etisalat Replies Julius Agwu’s N100million Lawsuit

comedian_julius_text
Ace comedian Julius Agwu filed a suit against telecoms giant, Etisalat claiming they illegally blocked and swapped his phone number.
Etisalat’s Public Relations Manager, Chineze Amanfo, while reacting to the allegation through an email sent to PM News, stated that contrary to the reportage of the issue on the blogs and news sites, a SIM swap was performed on the said line after the requester provided the company’s customer care executives with necessary SIM replacement information, in accordance with laid down NCC regulations and process for SIM swap.

She added that the SIM replacement information includes security and personal requirements to the owner, which the requester provided before the swap was effected.
“Subsequently, upon a report made at our office by Mr. Agwu that he is the owner of the line and did not authorize anyone to swap it, our customer care executives promptly restored the line as well as the airtime lost during the swap process.

“Etisalat Nigeria is currently carrying out an internal investigation into the SIM swap incident and will refer the matter to the appropriate agencies for further investigation as may be necessary.
“We wish to assure the general public that Etisalat Nigeria is committed to the protection of the rights of its subscribers and to continue to provide value adding services to its customers.
“We will spare no effort to unravel the circumstances surrounding the alleged unauthorized SIM swap while encouraging our customers and the general public to protect their personal information at all times,” she stated.

‘All Catholics Will Go To Hell Because They Worship Satan’ – Chris Okotie

Nigeria’s controversial preacher and former presidential candidate, Chris Okotie, told his congregation last Sunday, that:
”All Catholics in the world will go to hell because they worship Satan and are led by an Anti-Christ Pope who is a friend to the devil,” -
Fifty-five year old Okotie, while preaching in his Household of God Church in Ikeja area of Lagos, said the Catholic church is “a counterfeit church set up by Satan” and that Catholics “bow to idols and crucify Jesus every Sunday when they eat bread claiming they are eating Jesus’ body.”
Okotie told a stunned congregation:
They are not Christians and have never been. They don’t know Jesus. They believe that
when they eat bread on Sundays, they are eating the body of Jesus. It’s ritual.
The pope is an Anti-Christ and the Catholic church will soon declare for Satan. This is the end of times,”
He said Pope Francis is an Anti-Christ who does the job of the devil and that time is fast approaching when the Catholic church will pledge allegiance to Satan.
He advised members of his church to come to the rescue of Catholics and evangelise them.
1380575_558460694208673_472110884_n
This, he said, was not out of disrespect but out of respect for the word of God.
He said those who know the truth should bring it to those who do not know it in the Catholic Church.
Okotie said one of the Catholic most revered Popes, Pope John Paul 11, surrendered the Catholic Church to Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus Christ, instead of Jesus himself.
He said even the current Pope Francis has also done same.
He said Catholics are not Christians and do not worship the same Christ that he preaches in his church, at least the one spoken about in the Bible.
Okotie said he did not write the Bible but it was clear to him that those in the Catholic church were lost and were heading to hell fire.
“They don’t believe in heaven. They believe in purgatory, the purgatory that they invented,” Okotie said.
“That church, the Catholic church has been there for Satan and at the right time, they will declare for Satan,”Okotie said.
Okotie who has been married twice and divorced also twice said a beauty pageant will take place in his church next Sunday to select the most beautiful woman in his church.
He also said his yearly “Grace programme” where he makes donations to charity organisations will also take place next Sunday.
The once rock star turned celebrity preacher and politician has been controversial for years.
He once said it was the devil who told him for the first time that he was going to be a preacher.
He also said Nigeria’s famous preacher Prophet T.B. Joshua is the son of the devil and his followers will go straight to hell.
In recent years, he has been saying that God has anointed him to be Nigeria’s president. That prophecy has not come to pass in two presidential elections that he participated in.

How Nuudé Photo Scandal Crashes Actress Uche Iwuji’s Marriage

uche1
It is no longer news that the barely one year old marriage of controversial Nollywood actress, Uche Iwuji has reportedly crashed. What many, especially her teeming fans are oblivious of is the huge role some unclad pictures of the pretty thespian allegedly play in the collapse of the once happy marriage between Iwuji and her international businessman husband, Mr. Juwon Lawal.
Mr Lawal was said to have learnt that his wife, Uche, was having a secret affair with a top banker and he also discovered some BBM messages exchanged between her and her lover boy senior banker. Sadly, some of the BBM chats included naked pictures of the actress, which she allegedly sent to her randy and married lover boy…
In fact, information reaching ShowBizPlus has it that that shocked and disappointed Lawal has abandoned his matrimonial home and fled abroad to calm his frayed nerves and possibly get over the betrayal.
A close source who doesn’t want her name mentioned, confirmed the marriage crash, claiming that Uche Iwuji had always been unlucky with men, probably due to her way of life. It would be recalled that Uche had earlier denied that her marriage to Mr Lawal had crashed.

PHOTO: Goat Delivers Human-like Baby Goat In Ekiti

goatlike
The sleepy town of Ogotun-Ekiti in Ekiti SouthWest Local Government Area of Ekiti State was on Tuesday thrown into confusion when information filtered that a goat had delivered a human-like baby goat.
The spokesperson of the community, Sunday Ogunmeji, who spoke with a correspondent on behalf of the Baale (community head), Ganiyu Adetoun, said a pastor, Daniel Odedele, helped to deliver the goat of the baby.

“After watching the goat labour for several hours, the pastor took pity on it and courageously pulled the baby out, only for it to turn out to be human-like.
“The `baby’ had all the features of a human being such as human face, head, hair, female genitals, two legs and two arms with hoofs.
“However, the human-like baby died at about noon as a result of lack of care as the crowd merely trooped there to watch rather than to attempt to save its life,” Mr. Ogunmeji said.

“He told us that he passed that place with his herd of cattle and soon after, heard a strange noise; when he turned back, he discovered that a big stream has appeared at the same place he just passed with his cattle. At that point, he ran to Garki and informed his relatives, who also came there and discovered that the water had healing power. From that point, the news spread to the community”, a source disclosed.

However, the water is expected to also dry up any time in the same mysterious way as it came.

Sharia court in Bauchi has sentence man to death by stoning

sharia-court

Upper Sharia court in Bauchi has sentenced a 30-year-old man, Umar Mohammed Kandahar to death by stoning, for impregnating his younger sister.
The court records, made available to journalists on Wednesday in Bauchi , showed that Umar was arraigned before Upper Sharia Court Unguwar Jaki, by the Bauchi State Shari’ah Commission, where he was accused of impregnating his younger sister from the same father.
Counsel to the Shariah Commission, Barrister Dayyabu Ayuba, told the court that the suspect is married with three wives, but forcefully had sex with his younger sister.
According to Ayuba, the younger sister was brought to his house by their father to help take her to school, but instead, he forced her and had sexual intercourse with her, when she was 16 years old. The act resulted in pregnancy and she has already delivered a baby, contrary to section 136(1) of the Bauchi State Penal code law 2001.
When asked by the presiding Shariah court judge, the accused pleaded guilty, but disagreed that he forced her to have sexual intercourse; instead he maintained that she accepted to have a sex with him. The Shariah Court Judge, Musa Barde sentenced him to death by stoning.
Meanwhile, the accused, has filed an appeal against the judgment before the Bauchi State Sharia Court of Appeal, arguing that he did not agree with the judgment.
Counsel to Umar, Barrister Sadiq Abubakar on Wednesday, filed a motion before Bauchi State High court number seven, asking for the bail of the accused, pending the determination of his appeal by the Sharia Court of appeal.
He told the court that the accused family suffered because of his detention since 2011 and asked the court to release him on bail, to ease the sufferings of his family.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Aliyu Baba Usman, has fixed Monday, November 25, 2013, for mentioning of the appeal.

Wande Coal’s break-up with Don Jazzy Shocked me” – D’ Prince Reveals

Charles Enebeli, also known as D’Prince, who was recently signed on as MTN brand ambassador and whose track, Booty Bag, has been enjoying airplay on radio, speaks with Tribune,  on  Wande Coal and Don Jazzy’s break-up with Mavin Record and other issues.

You were in Ibadan recently for the MTN Loud Naija event, what was it like, seeing a lot of people turning out to watch you and other musicians’ perform?

Honestly, the feeling was
great. I have been to Ibadan a couple of times, but this last show was something special. What thrilled me most that night was the fact that we had a lot of young and old people showing us love. The impression we had was that Ibadan people don’t go out at night, that they always retire to bed early. So, when I was about to perform and I saw the huge crowd, I said to myself that I better give these people the best of my performance. I am happy that they really had fun because I did too.

What memory of your experience in Ibadan did you take back to Lagos?

Ibadan is like our second home after Lagos. The fact is that you will always have something to say about anywhere you visit around the world. But as I said, I always love coming to Ibadan. The love you get from these wonderful people will always make you want to go back to that city. The after-party was another unforgettable night of fun. I really had fun. Ibadan is fast becoming another big place like Lagos. I am happy that after Lagos, there is another big place where people appreciate good music and will stop at nothing to make sure they have fun to the full.

You are a member of Mavin group. How do you feel about the goings-on in the group?

Mavin is not just my label, it is my family. It is my home and I am happy with it. I am enjoying my contract because I am working with a great set of people who share the same vision with me about my career. So, everybody is working to take the label to an enviable height and I know God is in control of our affairs. From the boss to the least person on the label, we all work together as one big family. We always make sure we produce good music that people will always say good things about. You must have noticed that we know how to do it, that’s why everybody appreciates anything that comes out of that label. What matters in life is how happy you are with what you are doing and who you are working with. For me, I am very happy and satisfied with what I am doing under Mavin records.

Are you happy with the way things are going, considering the fact it was formed after the break up of Mo’hits?

There is nothing special about it. You heard in the news just like I did. It is one of those things that happen with any successful record label. It is not peculiar to Mavin. Mavin remains stronger than before. Everybody is working and we are moving ahead. That somebody left or that somebody may leave tomorrow, does not mean we should all stand down and look. This is one big happy family; whatever happens, we have to stick together so that we can fashion out the way forward; not to dwell on what happened in the past. That will only take us back.

What does this unfortunate development portend for Mavin as a group?

You know this is like a business and you can’t always foresee what might happen to you or your partner. You won’t even know where your relationship is heading to until it ends one day. But at the end of the day, you just have to give thanks to God for the gift of life because that’s what matters to me. As long as I have my life, I can always find my way through whatever challenge that comes my way. You can’t run away from things like this, but your ability to deal with it is the most important thing. You will agree with me that at the end of the day, you have got only your life to look after. I f you lose it, you are finished. I just thank God for my life, that’s all I can say.

You have suffered two break-ups in less than three years. If you look at the two scenarios, do you see any connection?

Why are you linking two different things together? But back to your question, as I said, I can’t really explain how it happened. If I tell you I could, I won’t be telling you the truth. In order not to confuse our audience, especially those who love us for what we have been able to prove over the years, I will say it was a big shock to me as it was to you people. I felt the way you might have felt when you heard about it. What I want people to do is to pray for us that God should guide us. Without His guide, we can’t do anything successfully.

What lesson have you learnt from it personally and don’t you think this may affect you in one way or the other?

One thing I want to bring out of this is that nobody knows tomorrow. So, whatever you do today, just do it very well. This development is a shock to all of us because Wande Coal is like our brother. Basically, we will keep the flag flying. No hard feelings and no bad blood. Like I said, we are all brothers. We will definitely find a way to get things sorted out.

Will this not affect your relationship with Wande Coal?

I don’t see it that way. Wande is my brother. We see each other at least every other day. I have no problem with Wande. The relationship remains as cordial as before. If you know the kind of relationship that exists between us, I am sure you won’t be saying this. That he decided to leave does not mean it will affect our relationship; it won’t. Break-up or no break-up, you have to be thankful to God for the good life He has blessed you with. Whether we like it or not, we remain one big family. From D’Banj to Don Jazzy, Wande Coal, me, Dr Sid and Tiwa Savage, I want our fans to continue to pray for us. It will mean a lot to the group right now.

Is there any difference between the defunct Mo’hits and the current Mavin group?

When you hear Mavin, you hear Mo’hits because this is something that has been on for a long time. We didn’t just start yesterday. People love us because they know we will give them positive music as we have been churning it out since day one. My last album is barely a year old and you can see how far it has gone.

Peter Okoye caught kissing in a club @ Dar-es-salaam

Psquare were at the Leaders Club grounds in Dar-es-salaam where they put up a superb performance – aside their stage craft, one act caught ourattention…..Peter Okoye, who recently got married to Lola Omotayo gave a wrist watch to a female fan (not the first time though) and passionately kissed the female fan.

If Peter was a Nollywood star, it would be safe to say it’s all about acting; since he is not yet one – what do we say?
